Fortnight

Spring break is in another 2 weeks. That's ridiculously early. I just got back from a weekend at home on Monday, and I'll be leaving again not next Friday but the Friday after that. Two weeks. Hot damn.

As per usual, it was great being home. I love every single minute I'm in Texas. It's always good--if I'm hanging with Julie and Michael, with the guys and Emily, at a bar or party, seeing the horses out at the barn or just being on the couch with Dan. (I'm so glad he has a full-sized one now. It was cramped on that loveseat.)

It's still hard to get into this semester. There's a lot of work to do before spring break, and I'm having a hard time getting myself into it. This is going to be a 3-day weekend, and I'm gonna be doing a lot of writing. The weather here has been drop-dead gorgeous. There was a blizzard over the weekend, while I was conveniently in Texas, but since then it's been sunny and 50. You can't ask for anything more. If it's cold and rainy this weekend, it's ok. Then I won't feel as bad about being locked up inside doing work.

Which is ok, I guess, because it's not like I did anything too strenuous at home.

This is random, but I really, really, really don't like that there's an entire industry built around air fresheners. Not just things that neutralize the air, but all sorts of things to make it smell different. Since when did no-smell become bad? Fuck you, Glade Wick; fuck you, Febreze Noticeables; fuck you, Lysol Neutra Air. And double fuck you to whatever one has the stupid "CDs" that play different "scent stories."
